It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Health Informatics and Information Management at Samford University. Residing within the College of Health Sciences, the department has created interprofessional relationships with a number of disciplines including nursing, pharmacy, public health, health administration, etc. to offer a program that is truly innovative and collaborative.
Health care is one of the most dynamic career paths in the world today. It is reinventing itself in the face of constant change and opportunities, such as those in Health Informatics and Information Management, exist now that no one imagined 10 years ago. The need for smart, compassionate, skilled and motivated people who are answering a call to care for others is greater than ever. Health informatics is THE common tool that facilitates an interprofessional team approach to caring for the patient in all health care settings.
It is an exciting time be a health informatics professional and I would welcome hearing from you and answering any questions you may have.
