In high school, Mia was a member of several honor societies including National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and French Honor Society. She was a section editor of the Vestavia Hills High School yearbook staff, participated in the Vestavia Hills Rebel Marching Band, and was a member of her high school’s “We The People” constitutional debate team. On campus, Mia is a Howard College Ambassador for the French department and works as a Lab Assistant for 100 Level and 200 Level French students. Last spring, Mia was inducted into the Alpha Lambda Delta freshman honor society and received the Seal Award. She has been named to the Dean’s list for three semesters in a row. This is the second semester that Mia is volunteering with NorthStar Ministries by helping lead an after-school book club for students in high-need neighborhoods in Birmingham. This summer, Mia will work at Samford as a small group leader for Animate, a summer program for teenagers engaged in worship leadership directed by Samford University’s anima: the Center for Worship and the Arts.
