Prior to coming to Samford, Emily was involved in swim team, the National Honor Society, and various musical ensembles including Marching Band, Orchestra, and Indoor Drumline in high school. At Samford, she is studying Communication Sciences and Disorders and will attend graduate school for either Speech Pathology or Audiology after graduation. Emily is minoring in Music and has marched two years with the Samford Marching Bulldogs Drumline and has played with the Percussion Ensemble. She also plays mellophone in the Pep Band and cello in Orchestra. Her favorite musical activity has been playing in the Pit Orchestras for the operas and musicals including Marriage of Figaro and Children of Eden. Her second minor is in Spanish and she is also excited to be studying American Sign Language at Samford this semester as she is always eager to be able to communicate with more people. She plans to travel abroad for an Independent Study mission trip to finish her minor next summer. Emily is Vice President of Regattas for the Samford Crew team and has rowed in the Varsity Women's boat for three semesters, and she is a member of the Samford University National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association. She has been on the Dean's List for each of her semesters at Samford and is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi and Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Societies.
