In celebration of 100 years, Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing has set a goal of establishing 100 newly endowed scholarships by 2022.
The vision of  Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing is to be a premier, faith-based school of nursing that serves as the standard for nursing education and practice. The availability of scholarships is vital to obtaining this vision as scholarships provide an opportunity to attract and retain top-tier students who embody the core values of the school and Ida V. Moffett.

The 1922 Society
Despite the almost constant evolution of the health care industry, one thing remains the same—the need for compassionate, skilled and experienced nurses. In fact, the demand for highly qualified nurses has never been greater.

The 1922 Society scholarships will ensure that if a student feels called to the field of nursing, Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing is equipped to cultivate that calling and prepare them with the knowledge, critical thinking and practice skills needed to effectively and compassionately care for patients.

To become a member of the 1922 Society, we ask that you be willing to commit to a gift of $25,000 or more. This gift can be made over the course of five years. Once the pledge is complete, the invested funds will provide a permanent, self-sustaining source of scholarship that will serve a vital role in the recruitment and retainment of future Moffett & Sanders nurses.

Why Endowments Matter
Endowments are vitally important to Samford’s future. They provide permanent, self-sustaining sources of funding—they are truly “gifts that keep on giving.” While an annual scholarship is awarded until the fund is depleted, an endowed scholarship is fully invested. The scholarship is then awarded through the income the investment earns.

With an endowment, the principle of the scholarship is never spent, and it will grow over time to generate an increasing stream of funding. Your gift—and all future income from it—becomes a permanent source of funding and ensures the scholarship will last forever.

Through the endowment of 100 new scholarships, Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing will be better equipped to meet the industry’s need for nurses by producing caring, competent and compassionate graduates who have a commitment to service, scholarship, lifelong learning and professional practice.

Today, more than 7,000 Moffett nurses are impacting the lives of others throughout the United States and around the world. As we celebrate a century of excellence in nursing, we thank you for your commitment to Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing and the profession. Many of the achievements made by Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing would not have been possible without the support of donors like you.

Anticipation resonates as we look toward the next 100 years.
