    Children's Classes 

    Art for Children

    Oct. 23 - Nov. 6, 2014 (Thu., 4 - 5:30 p.m.) 

    Children ages 8-12, join local ceramic artist Carolyn Wass in this artistic class, where emphasis is placed on personal creativity. Join us once a week after school for an artistic adventure at the Academy! Your adventure will include painting cheetahs on canvas, building clay animals, and creating a futuristic watercolor landscape! Young artists will enjoy creating art in this fun-filled class and share their creative masterpieces with family and friends. Supplies are included.  

    Ceramics for Children

    Sep. 11 - 25, 2014 (Thu., 4 - 5:30 p.m.)
    Oct. 2 - 16, 2014 (Thu., 4 - 5:30 p.m.) 

    Children ages 8-12, join local ceramic artist Carolyn Wass for a three-week clay class. The class will meet every other week. Students will learn to create fun projects from clay. Build pinch pot animals and clay stencil tile wall hanging using many fun designs. Each class is small with personal attention from the instructor. This class is for children who have or have not worked with clay before. Everything a young artist will need is included: non-toxic clays, glazes, firing, and materials.

    Homeschool Art Class

    Oct. 23 - Dec. 11, 2014 (Thu., 1 - 3:30 p.m.) 

    Children work with multiple media, including acrylic and watercolor paintings, simple printmaking and kiln-fired clay. Supplies are included. 

    Making Dinosaurs with Clay

    Sep. 8 - 22, 2014 (Mon., 4 - 5:30 p.m.) 
    Nov. 13 - Dec. 4, 2014 (Thu., 4 - 5:30 p.m.); No class 11/27/2014

    Children ages 7-12. Learn about a dinosaur and its anatomy, make a molded dinosaur footprint, and create and glaze your own kiln fired ceramic dinosaur sculpture with local dinosaur sculptor and artist, Carolyn Wass. Each class is small with personal attention from the instructor. This class is for children who have or have not worked with clay before. Everything a young artist will need is included: non-toxic clays, glazes, firing, and materials.

    Making Zoo Animals with Clay

    Sep. 29 - Oct. 13, 2014 (Mon., 4 - 5:30 p.m.)

    Students learn to draw, paint and sculpt their favorite zoo animals with local animal artist Carolyn Wass. Students create and glaze original kiln-fired clay animals. Supplies are included.
