    Antiques: From The Hands of Craftsmen

    Sep. 23 - Oct. 28, 2014 (Tue., 2 - 4 p.m.)

    Explore the legacy of historic and contemporary craftsmen with an exciting new antiques course taught by veteran instructor Daniel Brooks. Christopher Lang, Bob Rosser, Wayne Kuykendall and Travis Fleming join Brooks and other antiquarians for a semester filled with topics, including architecture, silver engraving, furniture, paintings and more. An optional overnight field trip is scheduled for Oct. 28-29 (cost of trip is not included in the course fee).

    Knitting

    Aug. 24 - Oct. 12, 2014 (Sun., 2 - 4 p.m.); No class 8/31/2014

    Master basic knitting stitches and techniques. Learn to identify the best tools, correct common knitting mistakes, read a pattern and select the best yarn for your projects. Students progress at their own pace with hands-on, one-on-one assistance from the instructor.

    Knitting Refresher

    Nov. 2, 2014 (Sun., 2 - 6 p.m.)

    If you learned to knit years ago and need a refresher, this is the course for you! We will go over all the basic knitting techniques, long tail cast on, knitted cast on, knit and purl. We will also look at how to use a pattern.

    Mixed Media

    Aug. 28 - Oct. 9, 2014 (Thu., 6 - 8 p.m.)

    Participants will experiment with a variety of media in a 2-D format, including transfer and printmaking techniques. The objective will be exploring expression and creating rich surfaces through the use of mixed media.
