Drawing is the essence of pictorial art. Everything we see consists of shape, boundaries, and form. Whether art is rendered via pen, pencil, or paint, drawing is the chief component. In this class, we will focus on the following: basic shapes made up of light and shadow, composition, balance and imbalance, perspective, and principles of depth and design.
Through lecture and individual instruction, students will have the opportunity to strengthen their understanding of figure drawing and human anatomy. This course will emphasize the importance of movement, anatomy and the use of line. Prerequisite: Drawing: I.
