Brooke Nixon joined the Cumberland School of Law faculty in 2023 where she teaches Lawyering and Legal Reasoning (LLR) to first-year law students. She has a close connection to Samford University as she is a summa cum laude graduate of Cumberland School of Law's class of 2008 and she taught Representing Small Businesses to Cumberland students as an adjunct professor for a number of years. During law school, Nixon was the writing editor for The Cumberland Law Review and a Caruthers Teaching Fellow.

Nixon has 15 years of experience in civil law practice. The majority of her career has been spent as a labor and employment attorney where she has represented clients in all types of discrimination and harassment litigation, noncompetition disputes, retaliatory discharge claims, and NLRB proceedings. Most recently, Nixon has been a partner at a national labor and employment boutique firm. She has extensive experience litigating employment disputes in federal and state courts.
