Why Theatre?

Why TheatreTheatre offers undergraduate students the opportunity to express their creativity in an artistic and supportive environment. It provides an exceptionally broad range of learning experiences, involving the science of design, management skills, literary analysis, communication and organizational techniques in addition to live performance. Where else can you learn to sew while analyzing a part for Hamlet; perfect an Irish dialect while hanging stage lights; or make your classmate's face look like a cat while running a box office?

Costume Design; Stagecraft; Scenic Design; Playwriting; and of course, Acting - these classes all blend the artistic with the academic and are only a small sample of courses available to theatre majors. Our course catalog describes the requirements and classes offered.
