Several Technology Services staff presented at the Alabama Banner Users Group conference held on October 27th in Orange Beach, AL. The conference was attended by numerous colleges and universities around the state who utilize the SunGard Banner administrative system.
Presentations made by Technology Services staff were:
- Nancy Miller (Student Records), Sherry Baldone, and Ken Cook presented a session on the University Curriculum Committee’s Paperless SharePoint Forms which will include the course forms and the academic program forms.
- Brandon Rawls and Ken Cook presented a session on SunGard’s Mobile Apps at Samford. The presentation covered the initial mobile apps installation and the features in the phase II release which should take place sometime in late November of 2011.
- Julie Stewart (Payroll) and Susan Nolin presented a session on the Federal Work Study Adjustment Workflow at Samford which uses data from Financial Aid to notify students, managers, and HR when there is a change in the status of a student’s Federal Work Study award.
- Susan Nolin presented a session on Schools on Facebook - Building a Social Community. Schools on Facebook was used to build a private Samford Facebook community for the 2011 incoming freshmen class. Current students now have access to the Samford Schools on Facebook application.
