                Beeson Divinity School Hosts Annual Reformation Heritage Lectures
    			Samford University’s Beeson Divinity School hosted its annual Reformation Heritage Lectures from Oct. 28-30. This year’s lectures were delivered by Ron Rittgers, professor of Reformation studies and history of Christianity at Duke Divinity School, who spoke about the role of the "enchanted Word" in early Protestantism.

                Samford Piano Professor, Cindy St. Clair, Inducted into Steinway & Sons Music Teacher Hall of Fame
    			Cindy St. Clair, associate professor of piano and area coordinator of keyboard studies at Samford University’s School of the Arts, was inducted into the Steinway & Sons Music Teacher Hall of Fame in October. St. Clair is one of 43 music educators from the United States and Canada to be inducted this year.

                From Songwriting to the Courtroom: Laura Katherine Cate’s Path in Music Law
    			Third-year Cumberland School of Law student Laura Katherine Cate is turning her lifelong love of music into a career in entertainment law. This summer, she externed with Keller, Turner, Andrews and Ghanem—a Nashville firm representing artists and industry professionals. The experience helped her see how legal knowledge can protect and empower creatives, and Cate hopes to use her law degree to make a lasting impact in the music industry.

    			Emma Claire Thompson, a sophomore finance and marketing double major, is the owner of The Etc. Shop. What started as a creative hobby has grown into a thriving small business fueled by her resourcefulness, entrepreneurial spirit and love for crafting meaningful, personalized products. The Etc. Shop offers custom apparel, stickers, cups and more. 
                
                
                Samford Startup: Braedy Sommerville Fitness Coaching 
    			Braedy Sommerville, a sophomore management major, is the owner of Braedy Sommerville Fitness Coaching. Driven by a passion for health and faith, Sommerville is creating a platform that blends physical fitness with personal encouragement, helping others grow stronger both inside and out. 
                
                
                Samford Startup: Hydraglow Co. 
    			Ava O’Dowd, a junior accounting major, is the owner of Hydraglow Co., a skincare business that focuses on creating high-quality tools designed to enhance confidence and promote genuine skin health. She hopes to bring authenticity and education to the skincare industry through products that empower women to embrace their natural beauty. 
                
                
    Bulldogs Drop Opener On the Road Against Tulane
    NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Samford men's basketball team opened its 2025-26 season tonight as they traveled to face Tulane on the road. The Bulldogs hung tight with the Green Wave late into the second half, but a late Tulane run took down the Bulldogs 85-72 as Samford falls to 0-1 on the year.
