Directions and Maps
The main December/Fall Commencement ceremony is performed in the Leslie S. Wright Fine Arts Center (#7 on the Samford University Campus Map) while the main May/Spring Commencement ceremony is held in the Pete Hanna Center. Divinity Commencement/Consecration ceremonies--December and May--are always held in the Gerow Hodges Chapel (Building #10). In the spring, commencement ceremonies for business, law, nursing and pharmacy take place in the Wright Center.
For selected December and May ceremonies: The Wright Center and Hodges Chapel are located near the front (closest to Lakeshore Drive) of the campus.
For the main May/Spring Commencement Ceremony: The Pete Hanna Center is located near the northwest corner of the campus (on Neal Road). To drop off or pick up individuals there, proceed through Samford's main gate, turn left on Montague Circle until it intersects with Dawson Drive (Seibert Hall and the Bashinsky Fieldhouse will be on your left; Tailbird Circle will be on your right). Turn left onto Dawson Drive until it intersects with Neal Road. Turn left. The Pete Hanna Center is on your left. Parking for guests with special disabilities and wheelchair accessibility are located in the Center's west side parking lot. All other parking is to the south of the Center. Please look for signs and personnel directing you to the various parking locations.
Seating in any of the above-mentioned venues for Samford commencement ceremonies are on a first-come, first-served basis. Each venue will be opened approximately one hour before the commencement proceedings.
