Courage to Care Recipients 2015
Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing will honor 11 alumni at its annual Courage to Care Gala Friday, October 9. The honorees, including Living Legacy Award recipient Brandon Brock, were selected for their adherence to the maxims of the school's namesake, the late Ida V. Moffett.

Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing hosted its annual White Coat Ceremony Sept. 21 in Reid Chapel. Sixty-eight Bachelor of Science in Nursing students who began clinical courses this semester were honored during the event.

Samford University’s Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing has received the maximum 10 years of continuing accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) following an extensive self-study and fall 2014 accreditation visit. CCNE notified the school of nursing that all accreditation standards for the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs, and the post-graduate APRN certificate program were met with no compliance concerns.
AACN White Coat Ceremony Participant Selection 2014
Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing will receive funding to pilot White Coat Ceremonies for nursing students. White Coat Ceremonies are designed to instill a commitment to providing compassionate care among future health professionals and they have long been an important rite of passage at medical schools.

HRSA Veterans Grant 2015
Samford University’s Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing will launch a program designed specifically to meet the needs of veterans seeking a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Funded by a $1,047,385 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Samford’s nursing school will introduce an innovative program that prepares veterans to pursue careers as registered nurses.
Nominate Alumni with the Courage to Care 2015
Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing is now accepting nominations for its annual Courage to Care Awards. The Courage to Care Awards were established to recognize outstanding Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing and Birmingham Baptist Hospital School of Nursing alumni who demonstrate the Moffett Maxims in their current or past practice as a registered nurse.
Nurse Anesthesia Traineeship Grant 2015
Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing has received $25,527 to provide support for students in the nurse anesthesia program. This is the 12th year for Samford to receive a Nurse Anesthesia Traineeship (NAT) grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
