What do you think is the best thing about Cumberland?
The two best things about Cumberland are the opportunities to gain real world experience and the opportunities to connect with local attorneys.
Why did you choose Cumberland?
I chose Cumberland because I knew that I wanted to practice law in the southeast. I talked to numerous lawyers before attending law school and each one had tremendous respect for the school and the type of students who graduated from Cumberland.
What do you most enjoy about studying law in Birmingham? What do you like to do in Birmingham?
I like studying law in Birmingham because of the growing legal market and the easy access to other major cities like Montgomery, Nashville and Atlanta.
In Birmingham, I like to go to Barons games, play basketball at Lifetime Fitness, and wander around the multiple state parks.
Student Organizations and Extracurricular Activities
Trial Board, associate judge of ADR; National Negotiation Team (2018 and 2019); Georgia Student Bar Association, president; 1L Mentor; Judge James Edwin Horton Inn of Court, member; summer study abroad, Cambridge, England
If you could give any advice to your pre-law school self, what would you say?
Enjoy your time in undergrad (or working) before law school, but start developing good study habits. Cumberland’s professors will teach you everything you need to know to be successful, but it is up to you to decide how much time/effort you want to put into your work.
What do you plan to do after graduation?
After graduation, I plan to move back to Atlanta and begin my practice.
