Legal Interests

I am interested in environmental, criminal, entertainment/sports, and family law.

Hobbies

In my free time, I am actively involved in my church and volunteer with several community service organizations. I also enjoy reading, photography, painting, and doing special effects makeup for a local haunted house attraction.

What do you think is the BEST thing about Cumberland School of Law?

The best thing about Cumberland is the sense of community. Law school is an extremely challenging time and is naturally an intensely competitive process. What stands out about Cumberland is the family-like support system, and an environment that truly fosters uplifting one another.

Why did you choose Cumberland School of Law?

I chose Cumberland for many reasons, including their support of my religious beliefs, how welcome faculty and students made me feel when visiting and speaking with them over the phone, and their connectedness with the Birmingham legal job market.

What do you most enjoy about studying law in Birmingham? What do you like to do in Birmingham?

I enjoy studying law in Birmingham because of the immense networking opportunities with firms, corporations, and organizations. In my free time, it is also nice to be located in a city with a diverse food scene, never-ending events, and tons of live music. Birmingham is such an interesting and cultured city with something for everyone.

Student Organizations/Extracurricular Activities

I am involved in many organizations, both on campus and in the Birmingham community. I hold leadership positions in Environmental Law Society, Cumberland Public Interest and Community Services, and Sports and Entertainment Law Society. I am also a member of Women in Law, Cumberland First Generation Lawyers, Christian Legal Society, and Alabama Student Bar Association. I also serve as an Admission Ambassador. Outside of Cumberland, I am involved with Church of Highlands Outreach Team, and serve on the Junior Board for Grace House Ministries.

If you could give any advice to your Pre-Law school self, what would you say?

Do NOT compare yourself to others. We all have different backgrounds, different strengths and weaknesses, and all bring something different to the table. But we are all meant to be here, and all have the ability to become great lawyers. There is no sense in comparing yourself to anyone else. The best thing you can do for yourself is to come into law school with an open mind and to focus on being the best person and student that YOU can be.

What do you plan to do after graduation?

I would love to work either in the Birmingham or Mobile area, but I am currently keeping an open mind about what practice area I will end up in, as I am discovering new interests with each internship/externship experience and class that I take.
