Summer Camp: Inspiring Future Pharmacists
Samford University's McWhorter School of Pharmacy hosted its annual Bulldog Pharmacy Camp for high school juniors, seniors and rising college freshmen to introduce them to the world of pharmacy. The overnight camp offers campers the opportunity to participate in compounding labs, simulation experiences, hands-on demonstrations, and tours of local pharmacies and healthcare facilities.

On Friday, April 19, Samford University hosted its 3rd annual Student Research Colloquia, held in the Davis Library. More than 90 students and student groups prepared poster presentations spanning 21 categories ranging from analytics to exercise science to social work.

Samford Pharmacy Climbs in U.S. News & World Report Rankings
Samford University's McWhorter School of Pharmacy has moved up in the rankings and is tied for the number one ranked private school of pharmacy in the South according to new national rankings released by U.S. News & World Report. The latest ranking also shows Samford Pharmacy among the country's top 10 private pharmacy schools. Rankings are based on peer assessment surveys sent to accredited pharmacy school deans, faculty and administrators. McWhorter School of Pharmacy improved its ranking from 65th in 2020 to tie for 60th overall, placing it in the top 50% of pharmacy schools nationally.

This week, Samford's McWhorter School of Pharmacy transitioned the first students under the new Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum into Advance Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPE). In 2017, Dean Michael Crouch and faculty began working to transform the curriculum to address the profession's ever-expanding role in health care and redefine the structure of each semester.
