Donny Snyder is a senior cello performance major at Samford University. Donny began playing cello at the age of 5. While growing up in Texas, he was able to participate in many state organizations, including the Fort Worth Youth Orchestra. Under the guidance of Dr. German Gutierrez, Donny was able to tour with the orchestra to Italy, Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic. He has also had the privilege to participate at the YOSA Summer Camp, the UTA Cello Camp, Interlochen Summer Cello Institute, and the Aronson Cello Festival before college. Donny has taken private instruction from Matt Bethe, Joseph Kuipers, and is currently studying under Dr. Samuel Nordlund. While at Samford, Donny participates in many ensembles, including the orchestra, chamber ensembles, and the pit ensemble. Donny serves as the Vice President for the Omicron Gamma chapter of Delta Omicron. He also teaches at the Samford Academy of the Arts.
