The Master of Arts in Theological Studies (M.A.T.S.) is an academic M.A. degree, designed to provide students with a deeper understanding of the content of the Christian faith. This degree is only available in person.
Master of Divinity
The Master of Divinity (M.Div.) is the flagship degree of Beeson Divinity School. It combines academic and practical training to prepare men and women for full-time ministry. This degree offers a balanced curriculum of Biblical studies, historical and theological studies, spiritual formation, and ministry leadership development. This degree is only available in person.
Master of Theology
The Master of Theology (Th.M.) provides advanced theological study beyond Master of Divinity (M.Div.) studies as further preparation for ministry and/or as preparation for research doctoral (Ph.D.) studies. This degree is only available in person.
Doctor of Philosophy in Theology for the Church
The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Theology for the Church is designed for pastors and ministers who wish to expand and deepen their theological knowledge for the sake of the church’s witness. The curriculum combines advanced-level seminars across theological disciplines along with specialized research under the supervision of a faculty member who specializes in the field. This degree combines the best of on-site learning in weeklong seminars with virtual research seminars and independent research.
