Rachel Stewart Martin is a Mobile, Alabama, native and 2013 graduate of Cumberland School of Law. As director of Cumberland's Career Development Office, her priority is ensuring that Cumberland students and alumni have all the resources necessary to achieve their professional goals. To this end, Martin provides individualized career counseling, develops professional programming, and works to cultivate strong relationships with diverse legal employers nationwide.

Martin graduated summa cum laude from the University of South Alabama before moving to Birmingham to attend law school. While at Cumberland, she served on the Executive Board of the Cumberland Law Review and had two writings selected for publication in the Review. Martin was a member of Cumberland’s nationally-ranked Trial Team, representing Cumberland as an advocate in both regional and invitation-only trial competitions, and she served on the Executive Trial Board as co-director of Client Counseling. For her work in trial advocacy, Martin was awarded the Alabama Chapter of the American Association for Justice Serve and Protect the Public Award and was inducted into the National Order of Barristers. She was also awarded the Alabama State Bar Family Law Section Scholarship for her performance in the subjects of domestic and juvenile law.

Prior to joining the Cumberland staff, Martin practiced exclusively in the field of domestic relations as a partner in the boutique Birmingham firm Crittenden Partners. She is an active member of the Junior League of Birmingham and the Birmingham Bar Association.

Martin lives in the Ross Bridge area with her husband and daughter.
