Undergraduate Institution and Graduation Year
Lipscomb University, 2018
Prosecution or Civil Defense (Litigation)
Because I grew up playing sports, I love anything that gives me the opportunity to scratch my competitive itch: board games, lawn or beach games, etc. I also love true crime, so I’m usually in the middle of some sort of documentary or podcast! Lastly, I love spending time with family and friends – especially when food is involved!
What do you think is the best thing about Cumberland School of Law?
I love the relationships that I have built with my professors. Every professor is dedicated to helping their students succeed, both personally and professionally.
Why did you choose Cumberland School of Law?
Coming into law school, I knew that I eventually wanted to end up in a courtroom. Cumberland’s National Trial Team has an incredible reputation, and I wanted the opportunity to learn from local attorneys who are passionate about trial advocacy. I’m looking forward to developing and honing my advocacy skills on the team this year.
What do you most enjoy about studying law in Birmingham? What do you like to do in Birmingham?
The city of Birmingham is very special. It truly has something for everyone – both in the legal market and otherwise. This summer, I explored downtown Birmingham and discovered some of the best restaurants that I have ever been to!
Student Organizations/Extracurricular Activities
National Trial Team; Cumberland Law Review; Caruthers Fellow; Admissions Ambassador; Center for Children, Law and Ethics; Women in Law
If you could give any advice to your pre-law school self, what would you say?
Ask for help. You should never get a question on a test wrong simply because you were too afraid to seek clarification. Professors want to see you succeed and are more than willing to spend extra time with you.
What do you plan to do after graduation?
I plan to stay in Birmingham. I am still discovering in what area of law my skills are best suited and where my passion lies!
