What do you think is the BEST thing about Cumberland School of Law?

The best thing about Cumberland is how helpful and community-based everyone is. There is never a shortage of someone willing to help whether it is my fellow classmates or the professors. The community feel at Cumberland is so welcoming and makes Birmingham feel like a home-away-from-home.

Why did you choose Cumberland School of Law?

I chose Cumberland because of their involvement in student success. The professors and staff are constantly helping students thrive in the classroom, in different clubs/associations, and in the legal community. Cumberland has great connections throughout not only Birmingham, but the southeast in general, and has developed amazing opportunities for students to network and meet attorneys actively working in careers that we aspire to be in.

What do you most enjoy about studying law in Birmingham? What do you like to do in Birmingham?

I have enjoyed getting to network with an array of attorneys while studying law in Birmingham. Being in a smaller city has made for creating many great connections amongst different attorneys and getting a chance to meet people in different areas of law. I enjoy going to breweries, sporting events, and going for walks in Birmingham.

If you could give any advice to your Pre-Law school self, what would you say?

I would tell my pre-law self to take my time. Everyone’s timeline is different from when they start law school to when they finish. No one’s journey is the same, and that is perfectly fine. Take your time, make the decision that is best for you, and everything will work itself out.

What do you plan to do after graduation?

After graduation, I plan on moving back to Denver, Colorado, and working at a firm there. (Not sure what type of law, yet.)
