Legal Interests

I am undecided as to what area of law I want to practice, but I am interested in Immigration Law, Personal Injury Law, Family Law, Real Estate & Public Interest Law.

Hobbies

Outside of school, I enjoy singing and learning new instruments, learning new languages, traveling, spending time with my family, and spoiling my dog!

What do you think is the BEST thing about Cumberland School of Law?

In my opinion, the best thing about Cumberland is the staff. The teachers, professors, and support staff truly want you to succeed. It is easy to tell that the professors, even those that have not taught me yet, care about me and wish me nothing but success in my career.

Why did you choose Cumberland School of Law?

Coming from a small undergraduate institution, I was drawn to Cumberland because it gave me that same sense of a small, close-knit atmosphere. I knew that at Cumberland I would not feel like I was just a number, and I could form connections with fellow students and professors. I love that Cumberland alumni are still actively involved with the law school when it comes to coaching moot court, coaching trial teams, and participating in speaking events. This involvement gave me the sense that they were proud to be Cumberland alumni, and I knew this meant that I would be too.

What do you most enjoy about studying law in Birmingham? What do you like to do in Birmingham?

My favorite thing about studying law in Birmingham is the vast accessibility of opportunities when it comes to internships. Birmingham has so many law firms and such a wide variety of practices to choose from. Having so many opportunities close by has made the summer job search easier and has allowed me to make meaningful connections with future colleagues.

If you could give any advice to your Pre-Law school self, what would you say?

Read more books! Take this time prior to law school to read books that you enjoy, travel, and do all the things that you enjoy because law school will take up so much of your time.

What do you plan to do after graduation?

I want to work at a small to midsize firm for a couple of years, but my long-term goal is to open my own firm.
