What do you think is the best thing about Cumberland School of Law?

The best thing about Cumberland is the people. The professors, faculty, administration, etc., all go above and beyond to make our experience one of a kind. It was so special to feel supported by the Cumberland staff while navigating my first year of law school. I could not have done it without Cumberland’s encouraging atmosphere.

Why did you choose Cumberland School of Law?

I chose Cumberland because I wanted to go to school in a city that didn’t feel like another college town experience. I loved my time in Auburn, but after taking a gap-year I wanted something that felt more like a job. I found that in Birmingham - I could attend law school and still enjoy the “young professional” lifestyle.

What do you most enjoy about studying law in Birmingham? What do you like to do in Birmingham?

I always say that Birmingham is the gem of the south. It is such a wonderful city with so much to do! Birmingham has an amazing food scene – I love trying all the new and established restaurants across the city. Most weekends, my friends and I indulge in one of our favorite restaurants and spend a pretty day outside at one of Birmingham’s many breweries.

Birmingham also has wonderful coffee shops, local businesses, and walking trails. Whatever you’re up for – Birmingham can cater to you!

Student Organizations/Extracurricular Activities

Alabama Student Bar Association, Women in Law, Junior Trial Advocacy Board, Donworth Competition Participant

If you could give any advice to your pre-law school self, what would you say?

Everyone approaches law school differently, so do not be discouraged because your friend’s study method doesn’t work for you. Find your study niche and stick with it. Stay in your lane and don’t worry about what others are doing -- only you know what’s best for you!

What do you plan to do after graduation?

I plan to stay here in Birmingham and enjoy the wonderful legal community that our city has to offer!
