At the Lucille Stewart Beeson Law Library, we are truly grateful for our information desk staff. This group of employees serves as the first point of contact for most library visitors and their questions. Also, they are the ones who continue to provide law library services during evening and weekend hours, when most offices and buildings on campus are closed. We are, especially, appreciative of their work during the many uncertain days of the pandemic. Their dedication and dependability are significant factors behind the law library’s ability to continue to provide services during these unprecedented times.
Take some time to learn more about our incredible information desk staff:
Charlie Coleman has served as a law library assistant at the Beeson Law Library since 2013. He began his career with the law library in 2012 as a desk assistant. Coleman’s hometown is Vestavia Hills, Alabama. He attended the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa), where he attained a Bachelor of Arts in history. His interests and hobbies include philosophy, history, reading, walking and watching documentaries. When asked what he enjoys most about working at the law library, Coleman responds, “I enjoy interacting with the students, and ensuring that the library is a reliable and comfortable study space for them during their time in law school.”
Barbara Macgirvin’s interests and hobbies include attending her grandsons’ school and baseball activities. Also, she likes traveling on cruises, and she loves cats. Macgirvin has been a law library assistant (part-time) at the Beeson Law Library since October 2011.
