Legal Interests
My legal interests center around helping people and businesses navigate complex problems. I’m passionate about guiding clients through business succession and estate planning to protect their legacies, while also tackling disputes through effective litigation strategies when conflicts arise.
Outside Interests/Hobbies
Beyond my legal pursuits, I’m a sports and outdoors enthusiast. I spend most of my free time on the golf course, playing billiards, watching sports, and enjoying as much time outside as I can.
What do you think is the BEST thing about Cumberland?
The best thing about Cumberland is the people. From the faculty and staff to alumni and fellow students, everyone genuinely values and supports one another. Law school is competitive, but that never gets in the way of the respect and camaraderie we share here. One of the best things Cumberland does is pairing 1Ls with 2Ls and 3Ls to help guide them through their first year and the summer job search. It all comes together to create an incredible community — one that’s hard to find anywhere else.
Why did you choose Cumberland?
I chose Cumberland because of the people and its commitment to academic excellence — but one thing that really sets it apart is its location. Being able to go from class to lunch with a partner at a major law firm downtown — all within 10 minutes — is an incredible advantage. For those willing to put themselves out there, network, and learn from experienced attorneys in one of the South’s major legal hubs, Cumberland is the best place to be.
What do you most enjoy about studying law in Birmingham? What do you like to do in Birmingham?
My favorite part about studying law in Birmingham is the incredible network of attorneys and opportunities within 15 minutes of campus. On top of that, Birmingham’s central location to cities like Tuscaloosa, Huntsville, Montgomery, and Mobile opens up even more possibilities for internships and jobs. And being just a few hours from the beach doesn’t hurt either.
If you could give any advice to your pre-law school self, what would you say?
If I could give any advice to myself before starting law school, it would be this: respect all the warnings you’ve heard, but don’t fear them. Law school is challenging — but it’s also what you make of it. If you’re willing to put in the work and manage your time well, you can absolutely succeed. Everyone who makes it to law school belongs here. There’s no need to compare yourself to others — everyone’s law school journey looks different, and that’s okay. Focus on your own path, and trust that you’re where you’re meant to be.What do you plan to do after graduation?
After graduation, I plan to practice law in Birmingham. While I’m still exploring which area of law I’ll pursue, I’m excited to discover where my passions lead me. I’m also incredibly thankful for the resources and connections Cumberland provides to help me find the right path.
