Samford has a 23-16 halftime lead in the finals of the SoCon Women's Basketball Tournament. 

 

The Lady Bulldogs look to repeat as SoCon Champs tonight against the Mountaineers.  Samford beat Appalachian State last year to reach the NCAA Tournament.  Scenes from Asheville, NC.

"Thatta baby," shouted Mike Morris.  His Samford Bulldogs are up to it again in the SoCon Women's Tournament.  The ladies destroyed Elon University 67-36 behind a game high 18 points from Reece Taylor.  Samford put the pressure on in the first half, connecting on 7 three pointers to build a 35 to 14 half-time lead.  The Phoenix could never bounce back as Samford's defense forced them shoot just 20.4% from the field on 11-54 shooting.  Samford will face top seeded Davidson Sunday at noon CT.

 

Samford leads Elon at the Southern Conference Tournament 35-14. The Lady Bulldogs are 7-10 from the 3-point line.  Should they win...they'll face top seeded Davidson in the next round. 

 

The Samford Women's Basketball team is warming up and getting ready for Southern Conference Tournament play.  The Lady Bulldogs take on Elon in this quarter-final game.  Samford (17-12, 12-8 SoCon) enters the game as a four seed, while Elon (16-13, 12-8 SoCon) is the fifth seeded team.

 

Live by the '3' or die by the '3'.  The Samford Bulldogs lost to Furman in the opening round of the Southern Conference Tournament Friday night.  Samford was 2-20 from beyond the arc in the game, and could not overcome a 14 point second half deficit.  Samford ends their 2011-12 season at 11-19.
