Nancy Battles, assistant director of admission operations, supports the Office of Law Admission by working with all aspects of law student recruitment, managing the student ambassador program, processing applications, handling event logistics and overseeing admission projects.

After graduation from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Arts in marketing and the equivalent of a minor in journalism, Battles began her career in the management training program with Atlanta Gas Light Company. At the completion of the program, she moved into the role of personnel representative with Human Resources (HR) where she recruited new employees and managed HR projects. She later moved to Birmingham and worked as a consumer marketing representative for Alabama Gas Corporation, making presentations around the state. Before leaving the gas company to stay at home for several years with her children, Battles held positions as a residential and a small commercial marketing representative. During her time at home, Battles stayed active with volunteer work at her church and with the Junior League of Birmingham and did proofreading for Over The Mountain Journal.  Later returning to the workforce, she spent 11 years in marketing roles with Southern Accents and Southern Living magazines.

A native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Battles and her husband, David, live in the Homewood area and have three married children and two grandchildren who reside in Nashville, Dallas, and Bluffton, South Carolina.
