What do you think is the best thing about Cumberland?
Cumberland attracts a certain kind of student. Everyone is kind and cares about each other. The faculty is always available and understanding. It is right in the middle of a city with a very complex legal market. It has an incredible alumni base. What’s not to love?
Why did you choose Cumberland?
I chose Cumberland because I felt at home when I visited. I knew right away that Cumberland was the only school I needed to visit. I chose Cumberland because I want to start my legal career in Birmingham, and the school has a sterling reputation here.
What do you most enjoy about studying law in Birmingham? What do you like to do in Birmingham?
I enjoy having an alumni base that is always ready and willing to help you. I enjoy getting to clerk in a very sophisticated legal market without all of the problems associated with “real” big cities.
If you could give any advice to your pre-law school self, what would you say?
Be nice to people, and do the best you can. Don’t worry about what people say about a given professor or the curve or GPA or class rank. Just be nice to people, and do the best you can. Take the summer classes if you can because it will help your GPA and class rank, and you will make a dozen or so good friends you can lean on when class starts in the fall.
