Cumberland School of Law Recognizes Distinguished Alumni for 2019
Each spring, Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law hosts its Alumni Reunion Weekend for Cumberland graduates, guests and friends. During Reunion Weekend, which was recently held April 4-6, 2019, the law school recognizes three distinguished alumni and one friend with an award in the following categories: Distinguished Alumnus of the Year, Distinguished Young Alumnus of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and Friend of Cumberland. Nominations were solicited from the Cumberland alumni base.

Cumberland’s Trial Advocacy Program Once Again Ranked as One of the Top in the Country
Cumberland School of Law has once again been ranked by U.S. News and World Report as one of the top law schools in the country for trial advocacy training. The 2020 rankings place Cumberland’s program number 15 in the nation out of 187 law schools listed.

Cumberland School of Law to Host Governmental Ethics Reform Discussion
Governmental ethics reform will be a major topic during the 2019 session. To coincide with Alabama’s 2019 legislative session, Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law will host “A Conversation About Ethics Reform: Where Should the Lines Be Drawn?” on Friday, March 22 from 2-4 p.m. in Memory Leake Robinson Hall.

Cumberland School of Law Listed Among Top Law Schools in the Country by The Princeton Review
The Princeton Review, known for its college rankings in dozens of categories based on students’ ratings of their colleges, has released their 2019 law school rankings including the “Best Quality of Life” and a list of the top 165 law schools in the country. Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law was again included among the United States’ top law schools and was ranked third in the nation for “Best Quality of Life.”
