Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders Fund
This general fund is used to support students and faculty within the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Funds are used for a variety of things including addressing immediate student needs, faculty and student travel and faculty development.
Department of Kinesiology Fund
This general fund is used to support teaching and research throughout the Kinesiology department, providing for various needs, from lab equipment to classroom supplies.
Department of Physical Therapy Fund
This general fund is used to support teaching, learning and research throughout the Physical Therapy department. It provides for things such as lab equipment, classroom supplies and student needs.
Places and Spaces
College of Health Sciences Building Fund
In fall 2016, the School of Health Professions moved into the new College of Health Sciences, an innovative learning environment designed to foster interprofessional collaboration and cutting-edge experiential learning. The building fund provides support for ongoing enhancements and maintenance for the 223,000-square-foot College of Health Sciences.
James B. Angel Scholarship
Named in honor of Dr. Jim Angel who helped inspire both the Sports Medicine and Exercise Science programs, this scholarship helps ensure the education of students in both programs. Dr. Angel was passionate about the professional and spiritual development of all of his students and positively impacted hundreds of students with his devotion to education and to Christ.
School of Health Professions Minority Scholarship
This scholarship is designed to help minority students in the School of Health Professions overcome financial barriers to attending Samford University.
Department of Physical Therapy Leadership Scholarship
This scholarship is designed to support a second or third year student(s) who exhibit exemplary leadership through their service and commitment to the DPT program and mission and the profession of physical therapy.
Dr. Margaret L. Johnson Scholarship Fund
Named in honor of Dr. Margaret L. Johnson who helped establish the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, this scholarship helps ensure the education of students within the program. Dr. Johnson has spent over 30 years practicing as a speech pathologist and training students in the field of communications sciences and disorders. The scholarship was established to honor Dr. Johnson’s legacy of service while providing financial assistance to help the students she so dearly loves to serve.
School of Health Professions Fund
This general fund is used to support student and faculty within the School of Health Professions. Funds are used for a variety of things including addressing immediate student needs, lab equipment, faculty and student travel and faculty development.
School of Health Professions Missions Fund
This general fund is used to support student needs, faculty and/or student travel, and other priorities related to missions. Missions is an integral part of the fabric of the school and is important in shaping caregivers for future generations.
