What do you think is the best thing about Cumberland School of Law?
Having to pick the BEST thing about Cumberland is difficult, however, something that stands out to me most about Cumberland is the community. The best advice I’ve received during my 1L year regarding classes, professors, and overall Birmingham life came from 2Ls and 3Ls. I love that Cumberland provides an environment where I am surrounded by peers who want to help me learn from their past mistakes and succeed!
Why did you choose Cumberland School of Law?
I am extremely family oriented and tend to thrive most in environments that make me feel at home. While touring Cumberland, the campus felt familiar and reminded me of everything I loved about my undergrad. The relationships between the staff, professors, and students were unmatched and everyone I talked to about the school only had positive things to say.
What do you most enjoy about studying law in Birmingham? What do you like to do in Birmingham?
What I enjoy most about studying law in Birmingham are the connections I have been able to make with the legal community in this city. So many attorneys that I have connected with are not only familiar with Cumberland but also the specific professors I have had. Being new to the city of Birmingham, I found that my favorite things to do are trying new restaurants, driving up the mountains and hills, looking at houses, and exploring new parts of the city.

If you could give any advice to your pre-law school self, what would you say?
I would advise my pre-law school self to not be afraid to ask questions. This not only applies in classes anytime you are confused or need further clarification on a topic from a professor, but also in reaching out to the people who have been in your same shoes, which is extremely beneficial. Cumberland provides many programs and opportunities for students to be able to ask their peers for help or advice. I would tell myself to not be afraid to use these resources. With that being said, if you find yourself having a question and you are unsure of who to ask, you can always reach out to me!
What do you plan to do after graduation?
After graduation, I plan to take the Georgia Bar and pursue a legal career in sports and entertainment.
