Rest
"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
Rest is an elusive practice in 21st century America. We are bombarded by deadlines, insecurities, epidemics, divisions, expectations, and the pressure to look like and perform as if we’ve got everything all together.
Yet God has provided another way. For we—we who trust in, love, and follow Jesus—have rest in the person and work of Christ. Jesus is our rest, for he has done the work of salvation for us and continues to work in and through us, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to bring rest, peace, and reconciliation to our broken world.
