Samford's Institute for Continuing Learning Launches Tech Certificate Program

Posted by Kara Kennedy on 2014-04-07

Samford University, in partnership with Birmingham technology leader ThinkData Solutions, has announced the launch of the university's new Tech Certificate program.  These affordable 60-hour certificates are designed to fulfill the software development and business technologies needs for individuals and organizations across Alabama and the nation.

Offered through Samford University's newly-created Institute for Continued Learning, these certificates can be completed at an individualized pace either in person at ThinkData's state-of-the-art lab at the Innovation Depot in downtown Birmingham or remotely from anywhere via cutting-edge technologies that allow customers to interact with live instructors from the comfort of their tablet or computer.  In as little as three months of intensive learning, individuals can earn certificates in software development fundamentals, SharePoint, and web applications, as well as certificates in data and business intelligence.

According to Chris McCaghren, Samford's assistant to the president for external programs, "These innovative certificates allow individuals and organizations to quickly gain the essential technology skills they need to compete in today's fast-paced marketplace.  Completed at an individualized pace for a fraction of the cost of other programs, our vision is to bring cutting-edge learning to people wherever they are.  Our unique partnership with a tech leader like ThinkData allows us to do just that in a streamlined and efficient way."
