Maria Christina Zucchi, a Justice of the Sao Paulo State Supreme Court in Brazil, will serve as Distinguished International Scholar at Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law Sept. 28-Oct. 1.

She will also present a program on “Brazilian Law and Business” Wednesday, Sept. 29, at 3 p.m. in Brock Forum as a feature of Samford’s Brock School of Business International Business Speaker Series.

At Cumberland, Zucchi will take part in law classes and discuss issues of comparative law with faculty, students, alumni, judges and lawyers.

The Justice holds the Master of Comparative Law (MCL) degree from Cumberland.  The MCL program is designed for non-U.S. judges, lawyers and academics to gain a perspective on the U.S. legal system by studying a comparison of laws in the U.S. and their own country.
