Beeson Pastors School Set for July 21-25
Samford University's Beeson Divinity School will host its 21st annual Pastors School July 21-25. About 300 pastors and their families from 25 states, Canada and Kenya have pre-registered for the conference.
Daily workshops will focus on Bible and theology, Christian living and spirituality, ministry and leadership, and preaching and worship.
Walter Kaiser, Old Testament professor and president emeritus of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, South Hamilton, Mass., will be the daily Bible teacher.
Singer/songwriter Lenny LeBlanc, winner of a 2003 Dove Award for his "Above All," will be worship leader each evening. Preachers will be Atlanta's Peachtree Presbyterian Church senior pastor Vic Pentz on Monday, Beeson's Billy Graham Professor of Evangelism Lyle W. Dorsett on Tuesday, Billy Graham Training Center assistant director and evangelist William F. Graham on Wednesday, and Glad Tidings Church founder and Church of God in Christ, Inc., northern California prelate J. W. Macklin on Thursday.
Vickie Gaston, coordinator of Advent Prayer ministry in Birmingham, will lead a women's track focusing on Christian living and spirituality through humility in serving.
Special activities are planned for children and youth.
A pre-conference seminar, "Doctrine that Dances: Bringing Doctrinal Preaching and Teaching to Life," will be led by Beeson professor of Christian preaching Robert Smith, Jr., on July 21.
