Samford University students Julia Hayes of Homewood and Antonia Littleton of Hoover have been selected to receive scholarships from the Adult Students in Scholastic Transition (ASIST) program sponsored by the Birmingham chapter of Executive Women International. Criteria for selection include having clearly defined career goals and objectives, and possessing motivation and potential.

Hayes and Littleton are both enrolled in Samford's Metro Programs curriculum for adult students.

Hayes, a liberal studies major, received a $1,500 scholarship.

Littleton, an elementary education major, received a $3,000 scholarship.

The ASIST program provides financial support to adult students who are working to improve their status in life through education.
