Samford Pharmacy Professor Wins State Health-System Award
Samford University pharmacy professor Marshall Cates was named 2006 Health-System Pharmacist of the Year by the Alabama Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
Dr. Cates was cited for his leadership in the Society, including his service as president and his efforts to re-organize the committee structure and review bylaws. He has also served as a board member.
Dr. Cates' clinical practice is with the University of Alabama at Birmingham's Community Psychiatry Program. The author of textbook chapters and journal articles, he is active in the College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists. He is board certified in psychiatric pharmacy.
He is professor of pharmacy practice in Samford's McWhorter School of Pharmacy.
