STARKVILLE, Miss. - The Samford softball team finished up play today at the Bulldog Invitational, hosted by Mississippi State. The Bulldogs started the day by falling in the late innings to Belmont 3-1 before bouncing back to take down Delaware State 10-2. Samford's record moves to 6-9 after the 2-2 weekend.

Samford's six-game winning streak came to an end as they came up just short, 89-86, against a hot shooting Bears team. Samford falls to 16-13 overall and 9-7 in league play after the defeat.

Samford split their pair of games today, falling to the No. 14-ranked hosts 6-2 before bouncing back with the 1-0 walk-off win over Delaware State. The Bulldogs' record moves to 5-8 on the season.
