Biography

Dr. Nina R. Harvey received her BSN from Tuskegee University, MSN from Samford University, and Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from The University of Alabama, Capstone College of Nursing. Nina is a family nurse practitioner, board-certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Dr. Harvey is an expert clinician who has cared for children, adolescents, and families for over a decade and she continues to practice providing primary and urgent care services. Dr. Harvey’s current areas of interest include health disparities, the social determinants of health care, and their effects on adolescent and young adult health prevention and promotion. In addition to her faculty responsibilities, Dr. Harvey is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Central Alabama Nurse Practitioner Association, and Chi Eta Phi Sorority Inc. She has also been selected to participate as Graduate Liaison for the Southeast region of the AACN-GNSA for 2017-2019.
