Biography
Alexis Wessel, MSN, RN, joined the faculty at Samford University’s Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing in 2026. She began her healthcare career working in an emergency department while completing nursing school and became a registered nurse in 2018. Her clinical experience includes neurocritical care, perioperative nursing, otolaryngology surgery and clinical care coordination. During her time in the operating room, Wessel served as the ENT team leader, where she developed a passion for mentoring and educating nurses. She later discovered her passion for nursing education while working as a clinical adjunct at Samford in 2024. Wessel enjoys helping students apply what they learn in the classroom to clinical practice and strives to prepare them to become knowledgeable, compassionate and confident nurses. Wessel enjoys spending time with her husband, Trey, and their son, traveling and riding horses. She is actively involved in her church, Christ Church PCA of Trussville.
