Originally from Abilene, Texas, Maddie Young began her nursing journey at Samford University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2020. Her passion for education led her to the University of Texas at Arlington, where she completed a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on nursing education.

Young returned to Samford in 2025 as a full-time instructor, combining her interest in teaching with a focus on oncology. Outside the classroom, she enjoys exploring Birmingham’s food and coffee scene, with Taco Mama as a favorite spot. She also spends time with her dog and friends, making the most of life both professionally and personally.
