The Baccalaureate Degree Program in Nursing, Master’s Degree Program in Nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice Program and Post-Graduate APRN Certificate Program at Samford University’s Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (https://www.ccneaccreditation.org) and has received a 10-year accreditation — the maximum term awarded by CCNE.

This 10-year accreditation, the maximum term CCNE awards, reflects the school’s exceptional quality, consistency and commitment to excellence in nursing education.

The months of preparation and dedication leading up to and during the review showcase the high standards and dedicated spirit that define Moffett & Sanders.

“This remarkable achievement is a direct reflection of our team's excellence, commitment, collaboration and professionalism,” said Melondie Carter, dean of Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing.

David M. Cimbora, Samford’s provost and vice president for academic affairs, commended Moffett & Sanders faculty and staff for their dedication. In a congratulatory email, Cimbora praised their commitment and perseverance throughout the accreditation process.

“Receiving accreditation in higher education is no small feat,” wrote Cimbora. “To engage in four reviews simultaneously and receive the highest commendations in all four is a level of accomplishment I have never seen before.”

Recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education, CCNE is an independent accrediting agency that promotes public health by ensuring the quality and integrity of nursing baccalaureate, graduate and residency/fellowship programs. CCNE accreditation assures students and employers that programs meet rigorous national standards.

This recognition further reinforces Samford’s reputation for academic excellence and its mission to prepare graduates for lives of meaningful service.

“Our faculty and staff go above and beyond to ensure the success and strength of our programs,” Carter said. “They set a standard of excellence that benefits our students, our institution and the future of our profession.”
