Leff Bonney serves as Associate Professor of Marketing at Samford University’s Brock School of Business. Prior to joining Samford, he was an Associate Professor of Marketing at Florida State University, where he taught graduate and undergraduate courses in sales and sales management and co-founded the FSU Sales Institute.

Leff also co-founded the International Collegiate Sales Competition which is the world’s largest collegiate sales event. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Sales Education Foundation and is founder and director of the Sales Educators’ Academy, which helps university faculty from around the world improve the teaching of sales and sales management. He is also a recipient of the American Marketing Association’s Don McBane Award, recognizing individuals who have made a lasting impact on sales education and the sales profession.

Leff’s research focuses on corporate sales strategy, seller differentiation, and customer targeting and selection. His research has been published in the Journal of Marketing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Industrial Marketing Management, and Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management among others.

Before entering academia, Leff held sales and sales leadership roles with RR Donnelley and Eli Lilly Pharmaceuticals. He has consulted with dozens of organizations on sales force effectiveness, including customer segmentation, sales process design, sales messaging, sales training, coaching and negotiation.
