Kori Cecil is an academic adviser in Samford University's Brock School of Business. In her role, she advises sophomore and junior prebusiness and business majors.

Originally from Paducah, Kentucky, Cecil attended the University of Kentucky where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a Master of Social Work  (MSW). Cecil worked as an adjunct instructor at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee, and at Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky, where she was also a field liaison for the MSW program.

In addition to her work with these universities, Cecil has experience working in community mental health, under a federal grant for workforce development, and as a medical social worker for a large hospital system. She moved to Birmingham in June 2016 with her two sons and her husband, David, who is a faculty member in Samford’s School of Public Health.
