Yolanda joined Samford University in November, 2006 as a department secretary. She was promoted to her current position in May 2007. In her role as the Administrative Assistant to the Associate Dean, her responsibilities include processing monthly financial reports, LOA’s, supplemental pay for faculty, along with managing all accounting for the Executive Education department.
She is responsible for the coordination of annual faculty activity reports, depositing checks from donors, graduate department fees and international studies fees. She also assists in the coordination/direction of the BSOB maintenance of accreditation process through AACSB.
Yolanda processes all course evaluations for the school, along with senior surveys. She is responsible for Sedona updates and handles technology issues for the school. Yolanda also manages the planning of the school’s annual scholarship event.
Yolanda retired from BellSouth Telecommunications, Inc. in May 2006 more than 25 years of service. During her time with BellSouth she served as Departmental Administrator in the Interconnection Services department, Secretary to the Assistant Vice President of Network Planning, along with secretarial positions in Marketing, Internal Auditing and Information Technologies Departments.
Yolanda’s heart has always been with the non-profit world and she has had the honor of working with several non-profits, including United Way of Greater Greensboro (Greensboro, NC), United Way of Asheville (Asheville, NC), Big Oak Girls Ranch, Childcare Resources, Inc. and Gardendale First Baptist Church.
Yolanda is married to Bob Long and they have three children, Rob, Rebecca and Ryan.
