The Dr. Betsy Bugg Holloway Annual and Endowed Scholarship was established in 2021 to support marketing seniors in Samford University’s Brock School of Business.

This scholarship honors Betsy Bugg Holloway, who graduated with an M.B.A. from Samford and currently serves as the university’s vice president for Advancement and Marketing. Prior to serving as vice president, Holloway served as the chief marketing officer, the Dwight Moody Beeson chair of business, the Hackney Family research fellow and professor of marketing in Brock School of Business.

A member of Samford’s faculty since 2002, Holloway was instrumental in the creation of the marketing major and served as the founding program coordinator for the Brock Scholars honors program.

Envisioning this scholarship’s impact on marketing students, Holloway shared, “Across my 21 years of service here at Samford, my greatest memories are from the classroom and time spent with our students. I hope this new scholarship fund will grow over time and support many deserving students in the years ahead.”

The Dr. Betsy Bugg Holloway Annual and Endowed Scholarship will be awarded to the rising senior marketing major with the highest cumulative GPA in Brock School of Business.

“We’re grateful for Dr. Holloway and excited to have this endowed scholarship in her honor,” said Dean Chad Carson. “Dr. Holloway’s impact, first in Brock School of Business, and now in university leadership, has made Samford a stronger and more vibrant institution. This scholarship will serve as a testament to that impact for generations to come.”
