The Professor Frank C. Minter Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 2022 to support those pursuing a Master of Accountancy in Samford University’s Brock School of Business.
This scholarship honors Frank C. Minter, who served as a faculty member in Brock School of Business from 1988 through 2006. Minter was instrumental in the growth of the school’s accounting program, serving as the program’s director for three years. He also served as executive in residence during his tenure. Minter was awarded a “doctoral equivalency” by Samford based on his achievements in the business world.
Minter was the president and chairman of the Institute of Management Accountants from 2000 until 2001. Prior to joining Samford, Minter served as corporate vice president and controller of AT&T and vice president and chief financial officer of two of its subsidiaries. He was selected three times by Accounting Today as one of the top 100 accounting professionals in the country.
Samford University and Brock School of Business are grateful for the impact made by Frank C. Minter. The establishment of this endowed scholarship fund will create a pathway for the accounting program to grow and improve for generations to come.
The Frank C. Minter Endowed Scholarship will be awarded to select students pursuing a Master of Accountancy with preference given to those who did not complete their undergraduate degree at Samford.
