For the first time in the program’s ten-year history, the sports marketing advisory board is welcoming three graduates of the sports marketing program in the Brock School of Business to its table, Jordan Bellar ’13, Cameron Cambell ’09, M.B.A. '13 and Will Cavanaugh ’15.

“After ten years, we finally have some alums of the sports marketing program that are far enough along in their careers that it makes sense to add them,” said Darin White, chair of the Entrepreneurship, Management, and Marketing Department.

White is the founding coordinator of the sports marketing and analytics program and the sports marketing advisory board in the Brock School of Business. White says the new appointments to the board are a sign of the health and longevity of the program.

“We have had the program for ten years and now we have arrived at a full circle moment,” said White. “When you come and join our program you are joining the lifelong Samford sports business family. We never lost contact with all three of these guys, we have been in touch and involved in their careers every step of the way. In all three cases, all were finding ways to help current students even before they joined the board.”

The sports marketing advisory board works to bring speakers to campus, establish relationships for students both in and outside of the classroom, and cultivate a viable job market for Samford graduates entering the field of sports marketing.

Bellar currently serves as vice president of partnerships for Tribe Gaming, Cambell currently serves as associate commissioner of business affairs at Conference USA and Cavanaugh is working with Leagues at Nielsen Sports.

“In so many ways we have watched God grow our influence, expand our territory and bless us with so many amazing relationships,” said White. “These new additions to the board are an indication of our program taking another step towards maturity.”
