Jeanelle, a native of Luverne, Alabama, comes to Samford from Eastern Connecticut State University. She was in Connecticut for 17 years and most recently served as the Education Department Chair and Professor of Science Education. Prior to completing her doctorate, Jeanelle was a high school science teacher in Luverne, Alabama, where she taught chemistry, physics, physical science and earth science. Professional interests include the effectiveness of various educational administrative styles, use of inquiry practices in the classroom, and incorporation of technology in the science classroom. Personal interests include antique cars, vizslas, gardening/landscaping, and cooking. Jeanelle will be joined in Birmingham by her husband, Stan, who is a nuclear engineering consultant and their two vizslas, Tessa and Blaze.
