A 2005 graduate of Orlean Beeson School of Education, Jewel Littleton is certified in early childhood, elementary and special education. During her years as an undergraduate student at Samford University, Littleton founded and worked tirelessly to raise funds for the Rev. John T. Porter Minority Scholarship. Littleton has taught first, third and fourth grade, special education and during the 2014–15 academic year, she served as an assistant principal at Hayes K–8 School in Birmingham. She currently serves as Turn Around Specialist for Midfield City Schools at Rutledge Middle School and as chief education officer of Learning Little People LLC, a company she founded in 2013. Littleton volunteers her time with Seasons Ministries, a nonprofit that works to mentor young women ages 8 to 25. She is also a junior board member for Junior Achievement and serves on the board of the Samford Black Alumni Association.
